Crew Carwash Joining Gleaners Food Bank for Fourth Annual HUNGERCREW Event

Carwash to accept canned goods and cash donations for Gleaners Food Bank

INDIANAPOLIS (September 26, 2018)Crew Carwash, an Indiana based family business, is partnering with Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana for its fourth annual HUNGERCREW fundraiser.

From 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7, Crew carwash will provide a FREE FastWax service to any customer who provides a canned food item or monetary donation for Gleaners Food Bank. Crew will accept donations at 23 Central Indiana locations throughout the day.

All funds raised will benefit Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, a nonprofit organization focused on leading the fight against hunger in Central and Southeast Indiana by collecting, storing, and distributing food to those in need. Participating Crew Carwash locations include all Indianapolis locations, Avon, Brownsburg, Carmel, Greenwood, Noblesville, Plainfield, Westfield and Columbus.

“We are thrilled to partner with Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana for the fourth year in a row,” said Billy Schaming, president and COO of Crew Carwash. “Gleaners provides food assistance to more than 260,000 hungry Hoosiers, and nearly half of those individuals are children and seniors. Our Crew team members are determined to help raise money for such an important cause and we are honored to join the fight against hunger in our local communities.”

In total, Crew has raised over $76,000 and donated more than 5,900 pounds of canned goods to Gleaners from its 2015, 2016 and 2017 HUNGERCREW events.

Crew and Gleaners are hosting a kick-off event at Crew’s downtown Indianapolis location at 1219 N. Meridian St., Saturday, October 6 at 7 a.m. EDT. Gleaners and Crew executives will address the crowd, and Gleaners volunteers will be on site collecting donations.
