Carwash to donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout the state for fundraising event.
INDIANAPOLIS (August 3,2022) – Crew Carwash, an Indiana-based family business, recently partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for its thirteenth annual Crew for Kids fundraiser.
As part of its Crew for Kids fundraiser, Crew committed to donating 50 percent of the proceeds from all Ultimate Washes sold to Big Brothers Big Sisters. The event took place Saturday, July 23, at all 42 Crew Carwash locations.
With the help of the community, Crew for Kids raised $110,757 in total for Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across Indiana and Minnesota. In total, the company has raised more than $1,000,000 for the nonprofit since its inaugural Crew for Kids fundraiser in 2010.
With the funds raised, Big Brothers Big Sisters will be able to create and support more than 40 new matches this year in the communities they serve. Since 2010, several hundred “Littles” have benefited from a mentor because of the Crew for Kids event.
“Those cloudy skies didn’t get in the way of our community showing up at Crew Carwash to support Big Brothers Big Sisters, and we are so, so grateful!” said Darcey Palmer-Shultz, CEO of BBBS of Central Indiana. “With this support, we will connect even more great kids this year with the connection, support, and opportunities they deserve. With so many of our Littles and Bigs participating at the event, we also saw a number of Littles learn job skills and get introduced to possible employment opportunities. We are so grateful to Crew Carwash for the unbelievable support. They believe fully in our mission, and we are proud to work with a company full of people who really care about the community and want to make a difference.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that matches kids with caring adult mentors to help support them and empower them to reach their full potential. Big Brothers Big Sisters will use this money to create one-to-one mentoring relationships between “Bigs” and “Littles” in the community.
Funds raised benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies that serve markets in which Crew has locations. The agencies to receive the proceeds from this fundraiser include: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wabash Valley, Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities, Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Minnesota, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bartholomew County.
“We are so happy to support their mission to create positive relationships through 1-to-1 mentoring” said Sally Grant, executive vice president of Crew Carwash. “We’ve been able to see first-hand what an impact the organization has on the youth in our community.”
