Foundation For Youth Receives $14,000

Columbus, IN

An outpouring of kindness from the Columbus, Indiana community resulted in a $13,863 donation for
a local youth organization!
For its Grand Opening/Charity Event in January, Mike’s Carwash partnered with Foundation for Youth, which  serves 14,000 young people in Columbus.

The money was raised Jan 18-20  when customers were given a free Works wash.  In lieu of payment for the carwash, a $15 value, customers could choose to make a donation to support the non-profit organization.  Close to 4000 Works washes were provided over the three-day period.

“The whole experience was incredible.  I feel like we made new friends,” said Chuck Kime, Foundation for Youth Executive Director.  “Adam and the entire crew at Mike’s Carwash Columbus are completely genuine in how they care about their customers and associates.  They are proving to be a vested part of our community.

The donated funds will go toward the Foundation’s Scholarship Fund. Foundation services include youth sports and recreation, and mentoring programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Boys and Girls Club. More than half of all youth served by the Foundation in 2011 received scholarship support.

“Foundation For Youth Board of Directors, the staff and the kids of FFY are humbled and grateful to the Mike’s Carwash Columbus team,” expressed Foundation For Youth Board President, Matt Kirr.  “To “give” us the proceeds of three days of work is just incredible.  We are very, very thankful for this donation and it will support many kids and their use of our facilies and programs.  Thank you Mike’s Carwash Columbus!”

Mike’s opened in Columbus in September, 2012.
