HUNGERCREW Donates $22K, 1.5 tons of food to Gleaners
On Saturday, October 10th, our neighbors in Central Indiana were encouraged to join the HUNGERCREW and provide a canned good or cash donation for Gleaners Food Bank, in return for a free application of FastWax. The one-day collection drive at 21 Central Indiana Crew locations netted donations of $22,000 and 3000 pounds of canned goods.
The donated canned goods translate to a wholesale dollar amount of more than $5000, and the combined proceeds of the day will enable Gleaners to supply 68,500 meals for our neighbors in need. Gleaners, through its network of 250 charitable hunger relief agencies, provides food assistance to more than 260,000 people throughout its 21-county service area in Central and Southeast Indiana.
“We thank our team and the community for joining the HUNGERCREW with such a generous demonstration of support for Gleaners,” said CEO Bill Dahm. “We were happy to make it convenient for our customers to donate and do our part in the fight against hunger.”
This was the first partnership for Crew and Gleaners, and the first one-day event with multiple collections sites for Gleaners.
